About Me
I was always a relentless pursuer of attempts to understand this strange thing called life and the human psyche. Shy and sensitive, but oh-so-curious about others and full of longing, I listened in on grownup conversations as much as possible. Looking for hidden influences on human behavior, noticing subtle clues, perceiving shifts in mood, my antennae were honed. Part-dreamer, I wandered in the woods as a child, attuning to nature-friends and finding incomparable beauty.
“Between the ranch-house and the house we live in is the singing creek where the willows grow. We have conversations. And there I do dabble my toes beside the willows. I feel the feels of gladness they do feel.”
--Opal Whiteley
As life unfolded, I found myself roving and transitioning through a diverse range of careers, establishing in me a much-needed feet-on-the-ground reality for living in these times. My work and work roles varied from bank loan underwriter, massage therapist, women’s shelter intake coordinator, technology help desk manager, staffing recruiter, program director in education, career coach, to finally culminating in my truest calling as psychotherapist.
Woven throughout has been a steady seeking— for understanding, perspectives, experiences, and meaning. In addition to my formal education, this has meant attending talks and watching films by and about psychology and art practitioners, engaging in leadership and communication classes, participating in dream groups, immersing myself in personal therapy and attending to interior life, practicing tarot, reading many books, and most of all soaking up Jungian depth theories in psychology.
I bring my learning through life experience developed over all those years, as well as my intuition, creative imagination, and open heart, to working with individuals in creating soul movement, healing, change.
